Equality Education

Equality Education

We optimistically believe in change. And we believe that change can be brought about only through education.

Among the various objectives and initiatives Mercy Foundation undertakes, education gets prime importance. Modern education is a process of learning from real-life experiences as well as by sensing the various happenings in our society. Only in this way does education become relevant to everyday life. Individuals must be provided with educational possibilities in order to fully develop their identities.

St Joseph’s Convent School is located in one of the remotest rural areas of Punjab. The local demographics include 28 percent of people belonging to backward classes. More than 30% of people cannot even think of high quality English education. Our aim is to provide as much opportunity to talented and aspiring students and their families. We become happy when they have a smile on their face.

Problems of equality of Educational Opportunities:

The reasons which create inequality of educational opportunities in our area are:

  • Economic conditions of the family.
  • Gender disparities.
  • Domestic problems including male irresponsibility.
  • Social reasons including caste bias.
  • Non-availability of adequate opportunities and educational facilities.
